Earning $300/day with Google -
Hit or miss??

Today we’re going to be going over a step-by-step guide to a side hustle that could earn you up to $300 a day or more. And I’m also going to be trying this side hustle out for myself, so I will be giving you my honest opinion and review of how it went for me.

If you’re around new here, my name is Rebecca and here we focus on building wealth and living our dreams without being tied down to a traditional job. There are a lot of ways to do that, so we are exploring as many of them as we can. And like I said, today we’re focusing on a side hustle which can potentially make you quite a bit of money.

As a quick disclaimer this content is meant for informational and educational purposes only. If you need serious financial or business advice, please be sure to seek out a professional in those areas.

But without further ado, let’s go ahead and jump right into the step-by-step guide on this $300 a day side hustle, let’s do a legit-test, and let’s see what all the hoopla is about.

Tutorial

This side hustle is said to be able to make you up to $300 per day, or $9,000 per month, all by utilizing Google News to your advantage. And you can do it from anywhere in the world. So let’s see what exactly we’re supposed to do to make that money.

So the bare bones of this side hustle is basically freelance writing work. And if you’re not familiar with how freelance writing works, you basically write articles for various different companies, and those companies can pay you anywhere from a few dollars to a few thousand dollars per article that you write.

BUT, with this specific method of freelance writing that we’re talking about today, you’re supposed to be able to kind of hijack the system and pump out a lot more articles than is normal, thus making a lot more money in a shorter amount of time. Essentially, instead of taking the time and effort that typically goes into freelance writing, you’re supposed to use Google News and AI to help you get your content ready faster.

Step-By-Step Guide

So how you’re supposed to do this, is you go to Google News, pick a topic that interests you, and then choose an interesting article from there. Then you copy and paste that article into an AI tool called spinbot, or any other similar tool, that will rewrite the article for you in a new way.

The tool is going to spit out a new form of that article for you, which is supposedly “plagiarism-free” according to spinbot themselves (and we’re going to talk more about plagiarism later).

At this point, you go ahead and take that article, you make sure to tweak it, personalize it, and check it over for your satisfaction, and then you go ahead and submit it to a website that buys articles from freelance writers. So I’ve got 19 websites here that are supposed to buy articles from freelance writers, and I looked into each one of them. So I’m going to give you the low down on each of them.

I’ll be giving you the name of each, the topics of writing that each one accepts, and the pay range of each site. They pay between $25-$2,000 per article, depending on the site. Not bad!

But unfortunately, a couple of these sites were just flops for me, so I’m going to let you know which ones to just go ahead and skip and not even waste your time on them. Now let’s go ahead and jump into these websites.

25 Websites that Buy Articles

The majority of these websites are specific to a certain topic of writing, or category or topics (such as writing about money, style, or travel). However, the first 4 websites will allow you to submit articles on a large variety of topics, and they are:

1. Freedomwithwriting.com
They pay $10 - $250 per accepted article.

2. Problogger.com
They pay up to $500 per article, but the average is probably closer to $100 per accepted article.

3. Skyward.com
They pay between $0.10-$1.00 per word. Now, this may not seem like much to you, but actually it can really add up. Think about it: an average article will be anywhere from about 300-2000 words. So that means that $0.10 per word would equal being paid anywhere from $30-$200 per article, and $1.00 per word would equal getting paid from $300-$3000 per article. Not bad! It really just depends on how much you are willing to write.

4. Shortstack.com
This was a flop for me, so be forewarned. It did not appear to be a freelance writing website from what I can see, and you also have to pay to use it. It seems to consist of contests and marketing campaigns. I just don’t think you should have to pay for something like that, but if you do decide to try it out, please let me know how it goes!

Up next, let’s go over a few websites that can pay you for articles related to money. If you want to write about personal finance, making money, saving, budgeting, frugal living, etc., then these three websites are a good place to start:

5. Thepennyhoarder.com
They pay anywhere from $75-$800 USD per article.

6. Dollarstretcher.com
They will pay $0.10 per word, but as we discussed above, this can totally be worth it.

7. Incomediary.com
They will pay between $50-$200 per article related to making money.

The next two websites are supposed to accept travel-related articles, but the first was a flop for me.

8. Thetravelingwriter.com
They are supposed to pay from $50-$200 per article related to travel. And while it seems like a decent blog to me, I don’t see anywhere that you can submit articles, or even apply to write with them. That’s why I put it as a flop, but if you’re interested in writing about travel, you can try messaging him to see and let me know how it goes!

9. Internationalliving.com
They will pay from $75-$400 per accepted article related to travel, living and retiring internationally

The next website accepts lifestyle articles related to health, home improvement, and more.

10. Dotdash.com
They pay between $100-$500 per accepted article.

The next category of websites is going to be tech-related. These sites accept articles related to web design and development, coding, and more.

11. Tutsplus.com
They pay $100-$500 per accepted article related to web design and development.

12. Alistapart.com
They will pay about $200 per article related to web design and coding.

13. Photoshoptutorials.ws
They will pay etween $25-$300 per accepted article related to photoshop techniques and tutorials.

This next site offers writing contests and opportunities for female freelance writers:

14. Wow-womenonwriting.com
They pay between approximately $50-$100 per accepted article and opportunity.

If you’re interested in writing about social issues, environmental issues, and culture, then this website is a good place to start submitting your articles:

15. Strongwhispers.com
They pay a minimum of $50-$150 but according to my research, you can get paid more than that.

Up next we have a site where you can write about writing and freelance work!

16.Writersweekly.com
They pay from $30-$60 per article depending on a couple factors of your article.

Next we have 2 websites for those who would like to write about science, history, entertainment, culture, etc:

17. Listverse.com
They are supposed to pay $100 per accepted article on these topics.

18. Cracked.com
They will pay between $100-$200 per accepted article.

Last but not least, we have a website that will accept interviews, essays, and fiction:

19.The Sun Magazine
They pay between $100-$2000 per article. And no, that’s not a typo. They pay up to $2000 for great quality work on a single article!

So those are all the websites I have for you today, but there are actually a lot more of these sites out there that will pay great money for articles. You could really make a career out of this if you wanted to. Or you can just do it as a side hustle like I’m doing today.

Honest Review

So now I’m going to shift gears and let you know how it went for me when I actually tried this method for this side hustle. Remember, the idea of this method is that you can utilize an AI website called spinbot along with Google News in order to get article ideas and very quickly pump out tons of articles.

In theory, you’d be able to submit anywhere between 1 and 10 articles every single day, or maybe even more. And obviously, if the method works, that could quickly add up, with some of these websites paying all the way up to $2000 per article.

As you’ll see in a minute here, this method using spinbot didn’t go so well for me. However, I want you to keep in mind that I still believe that there are a couple of ways that you can make this side hustle work. And I’m going to be going over those suggestions right after I give you this review.

My trial

So initially, I was planning on trying out this side hustle for a whole month to let you all know how it would go. However, when I went in to actually try this exact method using spinbot and Google News, it was a disaster in my opinion. I just felt like it wasn’t exactly what was promised, so I wasn’t able to continue with the full month trial. Let’s take a look.

So to follow the method, I went first to Google News, and I looked around for an article that I could use like the tutorials say to do. Once I found an article that I thought I could use, I copied the text from the article and pasted it into spinbot. From there I used the “basic spin” button, because I don’t want to pay any money for this right now. And as you can see, the results were just awful.

Now, as a quick aside, I want to point out that I did use the free “basic spin” button for this, and if you use the other button, which is “advanced paraphrase”, it does say that it will be about 70% better.

Maybe that would solve the problems, but I didn’t use that, because I didn’t want to pay for the premium version right now. And I’m not going to tell you to go buy the premium version either. But, I did want to say that it’s possible the premium version of spinbot might solve these problems. But to be honest, I don’t know and I don’t want to invest in it right now to find out.

Identical Parts

For the sake of this trial-run, we’re talking about the free version, and I have a bone to pick with it, so let’s get into it. First of all, right off the bat, you can see that the very first sentence that spinbot “spun” for me is identical to the original that I pasted in, in the first half of the sentence. I have a huge problem with that. If I’m going to submit an article as my own, I want it to be original. So that’s my first issue with spinbot.

Changed Quotes

The second main problem that I have with spinbot here is that, as you can see, it actually changed the wording of the quotes. It’s been a long time since I was last in English class, but I am 99.9% sure that that is a huge no-no. If it paraphrased their words and removed the quotation marks, that would be different, but that is not the case. It actually left the quotation marks and changed the wording of the quotes!

So I guess you could remove the quote marks and go in and reword the parts that are still identical. But I just feel like at that point, you might as well have just rewritten the whole thing yourself instead of trying to use spinbot at all, because you’re going to be putting quite a lot of time and work into editing the spinbot version too.

Plagiarism??

Last, I did some research to refresh myself on plagiarism because I was a little concerned that even if you change the wording, that this is still going to be bordering on plagiarism. Here’s what I found.

Technically, you can get away with this, as long as you are careful to paraphrase fully, rearrange it so it’s original, AND cite the source. So let me say that again: even if it’s fully paraphrased, you still need to cite your source. Now that’s doable; it’s not too unreasonable. But I just don’t have the experience to say exactly how it would go.

my Frustration with Spinbot

So at this point, I didn’t feel like the method was going to enable me to pump out articles as quickly or easily as I would need in order to really give this side hustle a try for a whole month, alongside my other work. And that’s why I ended up changing my mind.

I was just pretty annoyed that it wasn’t all that some influencers had chalked it up to be. I felt like in the end, it was not going to be just a quick and easy thing to grab an article and throw it into spinbot like it was touted to be.

But like I said before, I still think that you can make this side hustle work for you, if you do it right. And I have three ways that I think you could do so. I’m about to get into my recommendations on that, but if you want to see me try out these recommendations and make an update on how they go, let me know in the comments.

How you can actually make money with this side hustle

So let’s talk about how you can actually make money successfully with this side hustle. As I said above, I have three ideas on this.

1. Firstly, you could go ahead and try using the premium version of spinbot to see if it would work for you to pump out 3-10 articles per day. But I’m not exactly recommending that because I have not tried it out. And quite frankly, I don’t really think that you should have to spend money to make money.

2. So my second idea is that you could use the free spinbot version, but you definitely need to be careful to look out for the things I mentioned earlier. Those things to look out for are: 1) Identical portions that have not been changed from the original, 2) Quotes being changed but still in quotation marks, and 3) citing your source. Remember, even if it’s paraphrased, your content is going to be considered copyrighted intellectual property, and you don’t want to plagiarize or get in any trouble.

3. Thirdly,
if you don’t want to worry about spinbot and plagiarism at all, you can certainly still succeed at this side hustle just by developing your own writing skills, and writing your own articles from scratch. From what I can see, you can potentially start making a lot of money as a legit freelance writer, if you are dedicated.

I guess I’m an old-fashioned believer that nothing really comes without hard work, especially money. But I still think that there is validity in trying to find ways to work smarter as well as harder, so that’s why we gave this side hustle a try this month.

Conclusion

So that’s gonna do it for today, but let me know in the comments below what you think about this side hustle. Have you tried it or any of the three viable options I just gave? If so, how did it go for you?

Also, once again, if you’re interested in seeing me try out the premium version, or the other methods that I mentioned, let me know in the comments below, and I will consider giving them a try.

If you made it to the end of this post, I’m so honored that you would take your time to be with me and I truly hope this information and review was helpful, whether you’ve decided to try it or skip it. Until next time, just remember that you are loved, you are not alone, and you’ve got this! ✌🏽
