social media content
for september

Hi friend, welcome back. Today we’re going to be going over 16 unique and fresh social media ideas for your small business that you can use for the upcoming month.

Some of these are going to be tailored to the month of September, but, if you’re reading this in a different month, these ideas are still going to be versatile for any month of the year. You just have to get a little creative to adjust them.

And at the end of the post, I’ll be giving you 20 holidays and observances in the month of September that you may not be aware of, my favorite being potato month.

You can obviously use these to generate more fun and unique content for your social media, so be sure to stick around if you want to grab those for fun ideas as well.

So my name is Rebecca for those who are new here and here we focus on building wealth and living our dreams without being tied down to a traditional job.

Now there are a lot of aspects to that, but today we’re focusing on small business and content creation. So if you’re interested in those things, let’s go ahead and get started.

16 social Media Content ideas

If you’re a small business owner, or content creator, you already know that social media is basically non-negotiable. Creating consistent and engaging social media content for a small business can help attract and retain customers.

However, we all know that it can be pretty time-consuming and taxing on the brain to have to come up with these ideas every single month, week, or really even every day, depending on how you look at it and how you go about it.

So I’m going to try to alleviate some of that burden with these ideas.

First off, we have 12 social media ideas that are (mostly) customized to September, but as I said these can all be tweaked to another month if you get a little creative:

1. Back-to-School Tips
Share helpful tips or recommendations of your products and services that are related to the back-to-school season.

2. Holiday Planning Tips
Offer tips or checklists to help your customers prepare for the upcoming holidays. This could include holiday travels, decor, gift shopping, or whatever your business might best relate to!

3. Labor Day promotion or special offer.
Don’t neglect this important holiday! People always look forward to a good Labor Day promotion or sale.

4. Share a story about the hard work behind your products or services.

5. Highlight a product/service that’s great for fall.
Nobody knows your business like you do, so you’ve got to tell the world which products or services are the best fit for Fall or what can benefit your customers most during the upcoming season!

6. Share a motivational quote for the start of Fall.

7. Employee spotlight
Highlight a team member’s achievements.

8. International Day of Peace
Share how your business promotes peace.

9. Share a fall-themed recipe using your product or service.
You might have to get a little creative here, depending on what you sell! If you don’t have anything that can be used in a recipe, how about creating a Fall-themed gift basket and adding your product there?

And if you are a service-based business, you can put a gift certificate in the basket! This can be fun to give away to a family member or friend, OR, you can re-use it for #10:

10. Host a giveaway or contest for the start of fall.
For this, you want to give Fall-themed prizes, and I think that re-using your Fall-themed gift basket from #9 is a fantastic idea.

11. Share a customer success story with a fall twist.

12. Ask followers about their favorite Fall traditions.
This one may not feel business-related, and that’s ok. You want to keep a good balance of fun and business posts going on your social media!

So those are the 12 social media ideas specifically for September, but up next we have 4 more post ideas that are not specific to September at all. These can be used any time of the year without any tweaking, and I think they are great enough to reuse even as much as every month if you want.

And just a quick reminder that after these 4 ideas, we’ll be running through 20 holidays and observances in September, and you probably are not aware of all of them (such as Potato Month).

But first, the final four social media post ideas:

13. Share industry news or trends.

14. Tips and tricks related to your products or services.

15. Inspirational quotes related to your industry.

16. Fun facts related to your industry or business.

These four ideas are unique and helpful in that you can reuse them over and over again throughout the year as many times as you’d like.

You can always update people on news and trends, and you should always be able to come up with more tips and tricks, inspirational quotes, and fun facts related to your industry.

Remember, you can tailor these to your own business to make them unique, original and on-brand for you and keep your customers engaged.
