for November

Hi friend, welcome back. Today we’re going to be going over 15 fresh social media ideas for your small business that you can use for the upcoming month.

Some of these are going to be tailored to the month of November, but, if you’re reading this in a different month, just know that these ideas are still going to be versatile and adjustable at any time of the year. You just have to get a little creative to adjust them here and there.

And at the end of the post, I’ll also be giving you 20 holidays and observances in the month of November, many of which you may not be aware of, including sandwich day. Oh yeah.

But in all seriousness, there are a bunch of good ones too, and you can obviously use these to generate more fun and unique content for your social media.

So be sure to stick around to the end if you want to grab those for fun ideas as well.

Let’s go ahead and get started!

10 (mostly) November-related Ideas

First off, we have 10 social media ideas that are mostly customized to November, (but these can all be tweaked to another month if needed):

1. Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, or Black Friday promotions or special offers.

We’re starting off with some important holidays that you don’t want to miss for your small business this November.

It is a great idea to offer a special promotion for at least one of these holidays, and of course you need to be sharing that promotion at least a few times leading up to the holiday. Don’t be shy to post about it a bunch of times!

If you’re in a different month, you can do the same thing with any major holiday in your upcoming month.

2. Share a story about how your business supports veterans.

It’s important to not only use major holidays for your business, but also to show support and appreciation to those who we owe those holidays too.

In this case, that’s a pretty huge deal, because we owe not only the holiday, but also our freedom as Americans to our vets.

So to any vets out there, I want to say a sincerest thank you. And to my fellow small business owners, let’s make sure to show our veterans our support and appreciation this November.

And if possible, be sure to also show how your business practically supports them as well!

3. Thankful for Customers

Post Idea: Create a gratitude post thanking your customers. Include testimonials or customer-submitted photos that highlight their experience with your product or service.

Caption: “This November, we’re especially thankful for YOU—our amazing customers! Your support means the world to us. Here’s what some of you had to say! 🧡 #Grateful #ThankYou #CustomerLove”

4. November Poll: Holiday Shopping Habits

Post Idea: Engage your audience with a fun poll about their holiday shopping habits. For example, ask whether they shop early, last-minute, or prefer local/small businesses.

5. Countdown to Black Friday

Post Idea: Build excitement for Black Friday with a countdown series. Each post could tease what’s to come: exclusive deals, new product launches, or special promotions.

6. Holiday Gift Guide Featuring Other Small Businesses

Post Idea: Collaborate with other local or small businesses to create a holiday gift guide. This could be a carousel post featuring gift ideas, with each business contributing one or two items.

7. Team Feature with a Thankfulness Twist

Post Idea: Highlight team members and what they’re thankful for this November. Include a photo of them and a short paragraph about their role and what gratitude means to them this year.

Caption: “Meet [Team Member]! This November, they’re thankful for [personal gratitude]. We’re so lucky to have such an amazing team! 🧡 What are you thankful for? #TeamSpotlight #Thankful #Gratitude”

8. “Best of” November Playlist or Mood Board

Post Idea: Create a November-themed playlist or mood board that reflects your brand’s vibe. Whether it’s cozy songs, fall color palettes, or holiday prep inspo, share it with your audience.

9. Customer Q&A with Holiday Tips

Post Idea: Host a Q&A where customers ask for your advice on holiday prep. You could focus on topics like holiday décor, gift-giving tips, or how to use your products creatively during the holidays.

10. Small Business Saturday

Celebrate and support other small businesses.

So there you have the 10 social media ideas for November. Each of these ideas aim to engage customers while also tapping into the November theme of gratitude, fall, and holiday prep!

But up next we have 5 more post ideas that are not specific to any time of the year.

And then don’t forget: after these 5 ideas, we’ll be quickly running through the 20 holidays and observances in November. But first, the final five social media post ideas.

5 evergreen Ideas

This section is always my favorite (I do these posts each month), because these ideas are evergreen, meaning they are continuously reusable. And generally, they are so without getting redundant.

This month our evergreen ideas are related mostly to helping your customers understand your business.

11. Share how-to guides or tutorials.

12. Ask followers for feedback or suggestions.

13. Myth-busting related to your industry.

14. Infographics explaining complex topics.

15. Share a day in the life of a team member.

As I said before, these five ideas are unique and helpful in that you can reuse them over and over again throughout the year as many times as you’d like, even once a month each.

That means that if you were to use each of these once a month, that would give you one post per week for the entire year without even putting in that much effort!

Of course, remember that you can tailor these to your own business in order to make them unique and original and on brand for you. That will help you keep your customers engaged in your social pages.

And now it’s time for our bonus section.

Want More Help?

Social media is so important for every small business, but it can be pretty time-consuming and taxing on the brain to have to come up with these ideas constantly. So I’m trying to alleviate some of that burden for you with these ideas.

But still I know that even with all of these free ideas, small business social media can be overwhelming and exhausting.

And many small businesses quite frankly need to focus their energy on other tasks.

So if you need to outsource your social media management, I want to let you know that my husband and I offer social media management (that can fit any budget).

Conclusion

If you made it to the end of this post, I’m so honored that you would take your time to be with me and I truly hope this was helpful.

Until next time, just remember that you are loved, you are not alone, and you’ve got this!
